Letter:
Dear Family,
I just received your letter about 20 minutes ago, and having time, I’ll answer promptly for once.
I’m not at all sure about the furlough but the rumor is still going.
Tell Beable [Buela???] that if I were in the grooms place she would already be some woah [this is emphasized with larger script] Maybe you better not. Ha. I think Fuller’s house looks like a chicken coop and it really has an old hen and cock in it. Boy am I really in the mood for devilry today, as you can tell. We returned two days sooner than we thought this time so I got a chance to write.
I may sell my clarinet and if I don’t I’ll bring it home myself. We have a formation soon so I’ll have to cut this off short, so write soon. I have my mouth set for those cookies and you can send more funny books.
Love to all,
Joe
