Monday
Dear Family,
I got here ok 4 ½ hrs. late and was rewarded with two weeks rest restriction[?] rough, aint’ they? The train got in 6 ½ hrs. late so we were cooked. Most of the guys ain’t back yet. Boy will they get it. I got a v mail from Buddy. He is ok and still sailing somewhere. I am at present pretty damn pissed off so I can’t think of anything to say. I guess the Captain is mad because only 7 out of 21 came in yet. Well the furlough was worth it. Send the papers soon as they come. At present I’m about dead so I’ll try and steal a few winks. Write soon,
Love,
Joe
