Letter:
Dear Mother,
I just have a few minutes so here goes for a quick one. There are about 10 guys as reg. customers for the boxes you send, so figure for them.
I mean to tell you before I left that you have the wrong opinion of Margaret and what you thought happened didn’t although it wasn’t my fault it didn’t’ (Ha). She is young and rather passionate but she kept her head much better than I did—thus the messed up trousers (how is that for being frank with your old lady Ha) I just wanted you to know the truth Mother (changed ink). Restriction means no liberty. It don’t go in the books and I’m off now.
Pledge, Patton and Parish said hello. The first of Dec. will be fine for you to send the box. Taps went a few minutes ago so I had better hit the sack so write soon and don’t expect real prompt answers cause we are pretty busy.
Love,
Joe

Ask Dad if he would rather be in a car with a SPAR, cave with a WAVE, shack with a WAC, or in a dream with a Woman Marine? I know home with Thelma.
Dear Erma,
Just a few lines to let you know I can’t draw.
