Letter:
Dear Mother,
Well I really have the worse luck. Here I’m on tour with a swell show one day & in the hospital with a broken foot the next. Now don’t get excited it isn’t bad at all just one bone my 5th metarsal! I walk on it with a cast and walking iron.
We were playing basketball between shows and my shoe came off. I stepped on it that ended my part of the game. I’m in a hospital near camp recovering and having a vacation.
My picture will probably be in the paper with some crazy story and telling about the show. They are still showing and doing rather well without me. I sure hope they have lots of luck.
Don’t worry about me. I’ll be as good as ever and probably better off.
I will send the cards tomorrow. I didn’t get a chance before because I was with the show for 20 shows and have been here about a week.
I’m near the camp and the boys come in often and I get mail about twice a week and the mail gets out about that often. I’ll have plenty of time to write now so you will probably hear more often for a while. Have to eat now will write.
Love Joe
