Letter:
Dear Mother and All,
I’m sitting here trying to decide what to write. I’m aboard ship now and things aren’t so bad, no hard work. We had a show on the boat today and it was pretty good. I wasn’t in it. I haven’t found those clippings yet but will send them when I do.
My foot is almost as good as new. I hardly know it was ever sore.
Tell Charlotte that Jimmie is still true to her. He & Pop and I had a grand old time the last time I saw them. We had 3 cases of beer but they had so many buddies we hardly got any. Of course that makes you mad, Huh?
I still [hear] from Dot regularly, and Margaret once and a while. I’m going to write Sue and Jayne W. before I hit the sack.
Dot still has my school ring in case you wondered. She said when I was home she would keep it until I came & asked for it. If you want to break off with me, if you want this ring you have to come & and get it.
In her last letter she said she would stand by me until I told her it was no use. Of course, I said she would stand by for a long time. It’s good to know one of my old girls really meant what she said.
All of you write as often as you can and don’t write V Mail. I’ll write when I can.
All my love to all, Joe
