Portrait of William Henry Burner as a young man.
He was from Fort Valley, the son of John Jacob (1844-1923) and Ellen M. (Smith) (1849-1928) Burner.
His wife was Nettie Mabel (Ritenour) Burner (1881-1932). He and his wife had several children including: Clara R, Thomas Theodore, Alfred Glenn, Edith May, Ruth Althea, Roy Earl, Esta Frances, Fannie Marie, Mary Ellen and Violet Elaine Burner.
When he registered for the WWI draft in 1918, he was a farmer in the Carmel area of Fort Valley. Decades later in the 1950 census, he still lived and farmed in Fort Valley. By then, he was widowed and lived with his two of his children, Thomas and Violet.
