He was a son of Samuel Edward and Charlotte (Munch) Boyer.
In 1928, he married Florence T. (Landes) Boyer (1905-1975).
The couple had three sons in the 1940 census: Charles, Richard, and Donald Boyer. William's occupation was listed as "Cashier" in a bank. The family lived in Woodstock.
