Portrait photograph of William "Bill" Sites in his U.S. Army uniform.
Bill was the son of Mary (Moton) Sites.
During his World War II Army service, he was at Pearl Harbor when it was bombed by the Japanese. He received five medals, including three Bronze Stars.
After the war, Bill returned to Shenandoah County where he owned and operated the Virginia Restaurant in Mount Jackson and worked at the American Viscose plant (later called Avtex Fibers) in Front Royal for 20 years.
He was a member of the Massanutten Post No. 2447 VFW in Edinburg and was a bartender at the Mount Jackson Moose Lodge for a number of years.
His wife was Dorothy Frances (Beaver) Sites.
