Born in Page County, Harry was the son of Charles Amos and Martha Caroline "Carrie" (Yancey) Strickler.
He served as a Corporal in the Army during World War I.
His wife was Emily Louise (Smith) Strickler (1913-2003). They raised three children: Lillian Carolyn, Harry Wellington, Jr., and Charles Hammond Strickler.
Harry was the caretaker of Massanutten Cemetery in Woodstock for more than thirty years.
The name, "Harry Strickler", is written on the glass plate.
