Arthur was the son of Nathaniel and Mary Rosan (Barb) Beedle.
Arthur served in the U.S. Army as part of the 99th Division and spent four months as a prisoner of war during WWII.
He married Mary C. (Whitmer) Beedle in 1946 and their marriage certificate gives the location of their wedding as "Cootes Store" in Rockingham County. At the time, they lived in Bird Haven.
The couple raised a son together, Joseph Beedle.
