Joseph was born in Toms Brook to Robert Carman (1890-1955) and Ruth Violet (Baker) (1890-1946) Sibert. He grew up on his parents’ farm and married in 1942 just before he entered the military where he served for four years.
His wife was Florence Sidney (Miller) Sibert (1918-2014), born in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, to Milton Frederick (1890-1962) and Mabel Virginia (Reinhart) (1897-1951) Miller. After his military service Joseph returned to Toms Brook where he spent his life farming.
The couple was married over 50 years when Joseph died. Both he and his wife are buried in the Mt. Olive Methodist Church Cemetery in Toms Brook.
