He served in Normandy, Northern France, and Rhineland with Troop B of the 113th Cavalry Renaissance Squadron. Sgt. Gouldman was awarded a Purple Heart Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and a Bronze Star for his heroic efforts.
