His parents were Aubey A. Dellinger Sr. and Martha Montross Bowers.
Aubey Jr. graduated from Edinburg High School in 1940 and served in the European Theater of Operation during WWII.
In 1963, he married Thelma Doris Raper of Murphy N.C. Together, they raised a daughter, Sandra (Dellinger) Nelson.
Auby Jr. retired from the U.S. Government in 1973, and then retired later from Johns Manville, having worked as a machinist.
