School Principals - Virginia

Description

Portrait of Professor Milton Hollingsworth wearing a suit and tie. He was the son of Charles Edwin and Fannie (Coffelt) Hollingsworth and had a long career in high school level education; first as a teacher, later as a Principal.

Milton married Sylvia Pierce, a young woman born in England. Together, they had two daughters, Patricia and Sylvia.

He started out as a teacher at the Edinburg High School and by 1930, the census listed him living in Woodstock where he worked as the principal of the high school. Ten years later, he was a high school principal in Bedford County.

When he died, Milton Hollingsworth was a retired Principal of Norfolk City Schools still living in Norfolk. He was buried, however, in Cedarwood Cemetery, Edinburg.
