James Odell GRANDSTAFF was born on 2 November 1925 in Columbia Furnance, Shenandoah County, Virginia, USA. His father, James, was age 24 and his mother, Mildred, was 23 when James Odell Grandstaff was born. Odell had one brother and three sisters. He served in the U.S. 99th Infantry Division and died on 13 December 1944, WW II Europe at the age of 19 during the opening days of the Bttle of the Bulge. GRandstaff's body was later returned to the U.S. and was buried in Woodstock, Virginia, USA.
