Description

Portrait of Frederick Lee Wright wearing a suit and tie.

Known as “Lee”, he was the third child born to John William and Edna Florence (Hamrick) Wright. His father farmed. In 1940, Lee worked at the American Viscose Corporation (later, it became Avtex fibers) in Front Royal. His WWII draft registration card described him as being 6 feet tall and 180 pounds.

He married Helen Blanche (Looney) Wright in 1941. She was born in Craig County, Virginia, to James Madison and Mattie Bell (Starks) Looney. Lee was her second husband.
