Portrait photograph of Frederick A. “Freddie” Frye, Sr., a lifelong Woodstock resident.
During the Second World War, he served in the U.S. Navy as a Seabee.
He is remembered as having been the co-owner and manager of the Ideal Food Market located on Main Street, later the Woodstock IGA Grocery Store, from the 1950s through the 1980s.
He was married to Louise (Richman) Frye. The couple raised four children together in Woodstock.
