Photograph of an engraved cup awarded to Hunter Boyd Chapman, Shenandoah Caverns, Virginia, on June 27, 1925. The award was presented by the American War Veterans Association "as a token of appreciation".
Hunter Boyd Chapman (ca 1866-1942) managed Shenandoah Caverns and was the son of Daniel and Nellie (Swartz) Chapman. On April 24, 1888, Hunter married Carrie Stine. The couple had several sons: J. Shields, Frank, Douglas, Thomas, George and Paul Chapman.
