His wife was Daisy (Vaughn) Mauck. The couple lived in Warren County for many years. He died as a result of injuries sustained in a tractor accident in Reliance, Virginia.

Identified in 2011 by Marvin J. Vann, great nephew of the subject, who had the same picture at home. Tom Mauck was the brother of his grandmother, Laura (Mauck) Vann.
