Portrait photograph of Newton Jasper Orndorff in his U.S. Navy uniform.

Newton served during WWII and his uniform indicates his rank was Petty Officer Third Class and his job was as a shipfitter. Shipfitters fabricated and laid out metal for building and repairing ships.

Newton was born in Cedar Creek (Zepp) to Porter Field and Margaret Sue (Robinson) Orndorff. He married Agnes Molly Lineweaver and together they had a son, Steve, and a daughter, Yvonne.

For years, Newton worked at the Northern Virginia Daily office in Strasburg.

Newton lived in Woodstock when he died.
