Description

Frederick A. “Freddie” Frye, Sr. was a Woodstock resident.

During the Second World War he served in the US Navy as a Seabee.

He is remembered for having been the co-owner and manager of the Ideal Food Market located on Main Street, later the Woodstock IGA Grocery Store, from the 1950s through the 1980s.

He was married to Louise Richman Frye, was a charter member of the Woodstock Lions Club, and a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in Woodstock.
