Subject

Huffman, Harvey Lee Sr. (1925-1979)

Description

Portrait of Mr. Harvey Huffman, of Woodstock, wearing a suit and tie. Harvey was the son of Charles William and Ada May (Nicholas-Keyes) Huffman from Fort Valley.

He served in the military as a Private during WWII, from 1944 to 1946. After that, he returned home and married Ruby Irene Sibert in October 1949.

Ruby was the daughter of Homer Albertus and Hazel Mary (Hedrick) Sibert. She was 19 years old and working for the Woodstock Manufacturing Company when she married.

The 1950 census found Harvey and Ruby living with her parents in Fort Valley. His occupation was "huckster" and hers was as a "sewer" in a coat factory.

At some point in his life, Harvey was an employee of Dellinger Funeral Home and Dellinger Ambulance Service. When he died in 1979, his occupation was as a "storeroom manager" in a hospital.
