Mr. Wakeman was the son of Galen F. (1898-1980) and Maude Elizabeth (Clem) Wakeman (1903-1993) and married Betty Lee (Miller) Wakeman (1931-2011) in 1951.
He worked as a salesman for Truck Suppliers and was a member of Wakemans Grove Church of the Brethren. He was an active reserve and color guard at the American Legion Post 199 in Woodstock.
