Nipe, Merlin Harris (1907-1973)

This photograph appeared in the 1925 Strasburg High School yearbook when Merlin was a senior. The yearbook staff wrote this about him:

"Nipe's" good looks and marcel wave make him the ideal of every High School girl. When it comes to knowing one's lessons, he never fails to know them. He has the honor of being our Salutatorian and for this he has worked very diligently, never hesitating in any attempt. "Nipe" is an enthusiastic supporter of high school activities. As Editor-in-Chief of "Shenandoah" he has worked unceasingly. He is the star center of our basketball team as well as a member of the baseball team. "Nipe" expects to enter V.M.I. in September."
