Silas D. Kibler was the son of James Allen (1864-1949) and Mary Catherine (Hisey) (1863-1939) Kibler. He was from Woodstock and married Susie (Smoot) (1906-1991) Kibler.
Silas worked as a machinist for the Blue Bell Company, a clothing manufacturer in Mt. Jackson, for 42 years before he retired in 1972. He and his wife had two children: Rosemary Ann (Kibler) Dinges (1931-2015) and James Albert Kibler (1933-2023).
