Photo of a portrait photograph of Harry Quintas Himelright wearing his U.S. Army uniform.

He was born in Wardensville, West Virginia, and grew up in the Wheatfield community of Shenandoah County, near Strasburg. His parents were Erol Leslie and Bettie Catherine (Snarr) Himelright.

When he registered for the WWII draft, Harry lived in Hyattsville, Maryland, and worked at Washington's National Airport. He was described as being 5'9" tall, 170 pounds with blue eyes, red hair, and a scar on his right shoulder.

He married Ida Mae Smith in 1943 in Riverdale, Maryland. The couple had at least three children together before they divorced in 1963.

His second wife was Thelma Virginia (Robinson) Himelright from Warren County. The couple married in 1964, but divorced about five years later. At that time, he lived in Elkton and worked in a department store in Rockingham County where he managed the appliance department.

Harry was a retired mechanic and lived in Edinburg when he died. He is buried in Lebanon Church.
