Description

William Harvey Riffey shown later in life with his trademark mustache and beard.

He was a Confederate Veteran and farmer, from the Woodstock area of the county. His parents were George and Polly (Book) Riffey.

He married Sarah (Hollar) Riffey and had many children.

During the Civil War, William H. Riffey served in Company K of the 12th Virginia Cavalry.

Before he died, he was the oldest Confederate Veteran still living in Shenandoah County.
