He was the son of Curtis C. and Mary (Funkhouser) Vann of Strasburg.
His wife was Iris Lorena (Keller) Vann (1917-2018). The couple had two children, Michael Henry and Susan Carol Vann.
The family lived mostly in Strasburg, although Curtis served in the Army in the early 1950's and his wife and young son accompanied him to Texas while he was at Fort Hood before being assigned to Korea.
The glass plate negative of this image was stored in a box marked, "Strasburg".
