Two arrows in the foreground point to survey posts marking the boundary of the lot utilized for the US Post Office.
It was originally owned by Mark Bird, a County Judge during the 19th century. After his death it was used alternatively as a residence, a school, and an apartment building.
The house was located on Muhlenberg Street. In 1927, it was moved to an adjacent lot along Commerce Street to accommodate the new Woodstock Post Office.
