Hugh Starke Morrison was a well-known photographer in Harrisonburg, Virginia, for more than sixty years when he died.
He was born near Stanardsville, Virginia, the youngest son born to William Dabney and Elizabeth Morrison.
In 1867, he married Susan A. Flick (1842-1914) of Shenandoah County, by whom he had two children, a son, Hugh A. Morrison Jr., (Woodstock photographer), and a daughter, Anna Morrison.
