Portrait photograph of Raymond Earl Borden in a hat, polka-dotted scarf, and overcoat.

Raymond was born in Warren County to Harry L. and Elizabeth (Baker) Borden.

By 1920, the family lived on the Valley Turnpike in the Davis District of Shenandoah County, near Strasburg.

Raymond had older brothers and the family business was a lumber yard which he helped run in the 1930's and 1940's.

Raymond married in September 1935 to Betty C. Maphis, the daughter of Fred and Anna C. (Boyer) Maphis). He worked as a bookkeeper at the time.

Raymond died relatively young, of Leukemia.

The glass plate negative of this image was stored in a box labeled, "Strasburg".

Identified in 2010 by Graham Conner who remembered Raymond lost his left arm in an automobile accident.
