Description
Portrait photograph of an unidentified soldier wearing his U.S. Army uniform. The shoulder patch with two A's signified the man was a member of the 82nd Airborne group.
AA stood for "All American" and was given as a nickname to the 82nd Airborne Division when it was formed in 1917, because it was originally comprised of men from all 48 states.
The soldier is also wearing a U.S. Army Marksmanship Qualification badge on his chest with four qualifying bars hanging down. The first two say, "rifle" and "carbine", The other two are illegible.
