Harold was the son of Ray Wheeler Henry and Mamie Frances (Painter) Henry. His father was a plumber.
When Harold registered for the WWII draft in 1942, he worked for Gaylon Zirkle in Mt. Jackson.
After his military service, he married Mae Rebecca (Olinger) Henry in 1948. At that time, Harold was a plumber (like his father) and his new wife worked for the Bluebell Co.
At first, they lived with her parents in the Lee District of Shenandoah County.
The couple raised a daughter, Mary Sue (Henry) Whetzel (1954-2021).
Harold and his wife are buried together in Mt. Jackson.
