Alfred was born on January 25, 1923, in Grayling, Michigan. He was inducted into the Navy in March 1943. He lived in Detroit, Michigan, at that time.
The form includes his duty stations (USS Sierra overseas) his dates of service (March 1943 - December 1945), and a description of his service (Fire Controlman 2c).
It also notes he was married and had worked at the Chaseland Garage in Worthington, Ohio, before he was drafted.
He hoped to find work as an electrician in Ohio.
