Jack was born in Edinburg on January 18, 1925. He had graduated from Edinburg High School in 1943 and was drafted into the U.S. Navy right afterwards.
He served overseas and earned these medals: American Area; Victory World War II; Asiatic Pacific Area (1 star); and Philippine Liberation (1star).
After his discharge, he planned to return to Edinburg and study Automotive Engineering.
