Postcard showing the "Hines Memorial Pythian Home of Virginia" which was located in New Market.
The building was originally constructed in 1834 by the Rice family. The Pythians opened it as an orphanage and home for aged members in 1927.
Later it became the headquarters for the local division of Mason-Dixon Trucking when the Pythian home moved to Bedford County VA. It currently houses White Tree Manor Assisted Living Facility.
