He was born in Spokane, Washington, to Lawrence Dunham and Grace Kent "Gracie" (Denton) Dunn.
Bob became a forester and worked in the Woodstock office of the Virginia Department of Forestry.
His first wife was Margaret Elizabeth "Betsey" Edwards (1922-1952).
After she died, he married again to Kathryn Mae (Washam) Dunn (1925-2015). They spent 53 years together before he died.
