Description

Photograph of the interior of the warehouse of Irvin Inc., a wholesale distribution facility also known as the Irvin Candy Company.

Irvin Incorporated was established by George E. Irvin, and his business partner, J.I. Triplett, in 1884, as a farm equipment retailer. It transitioned to a wholesale distributor of, eventually, stationery and office supplies, drugs and druggist sundries, confectionary, and tobacco products.

Boxes of Camel cigarettes and other tobacco products as well as candy are visible on the shelves.

The business was located on Route 11 just north of Edinburg but shut down in December 2009.

The building still stands.
