Description
Photograph of the interior of the warehouse of Irvin Inc., a wholesale distribution facility also known as the Irvin Candy Company.
Irvin Incorporated was established by George E. Irvin, and his business partner, J.I. Triplett, in 1884, as a farm equipment retailer. It transitioned to a wholesale distributor of, eventually, stationery and office supplies, drugs and druggist sundries, confectionary, and tobacco products.
A long conveyor belt, boxes, and a doorway are visible.
The business was located on Route 11 just north of Edinburg and shut down in December 2009.
The building still stands.
