Bob was the son of George Elcana and Alice Rebecca (Newland) Irvin.
He married Mary Ellen (Grove) Irvin and lived in Edinburg.
He is remembered for having founded Irvin Candy Company in Edinburg. His company later became Irvin Inc., a wholesale distribution company. He was the President of that organization for many years.
He died unexpectedly from injuries sustained in an automobile accident about a half mile south of Strasburg on Route 11.
