Photo of two separate portrait photographs of Charles Samuel Gochenour as a young man in a suit and tie.

Born in Woodstock, he was the son of Jacob Samuel and Lydia (Stout) Gochenour.

His wife was Nancy Jane (Dodson) Gochenour. They married in Conicville in 1968. At that time, Charles worked for the Town of Woodstock (in the Public Works Department).

Over the years they raised three children: Melissa Jane, Michael Charles, and Allen Samuel Gochenour.

At the time of his death, Charles' obituary noted he was a graduate of Central High School and a trustee of St. John's United Church of Christ in Hamburg. He also maintained Mahogany Grove Farm, operated his own auctioneer business, and served as President of the Shenandoah County Fair for many years.

He was active in many other initiatives in the community as well.
