Letter:
Dear Mom,
I just got the box today and also your last letter. The money came just in time for the weekend.
I had a date and spent my cash for things I needed from the PX & laundry. I am trying to write this in bed. I didn’t get in till [senially?] this morning, had trouble hitching back from L.A. and couldn’t get a bus (no room).
I didn’t write last week because we were out in the field again. I met Dick Rugans niece Grace in L.A. She knows a tailor shop and I went in to get my Greens fixed. She said she went to school with dad and Aunt Becca and that she knew you too. I can’t remember what her last name was. She said tell everyone hello.
She fixed my blouse free and said, “What’s a little nip among friends?” Ha. I spent the weekend at the girl’s house, the one who has the car. We went to the beach Sunday, more fried chicken, her folks sure are swell. Joe Parrish said Hello just now. Send some more stamps. I write Margaret every time I write you so I’m out of stamps. She sure is swell. Mother I’m going to have her to come up and see you. Well time for taps.
Love to all,
Joe
PS Tell Sis I got the letter & cards.
