Letter:

Dear Mother,
Well I got your letter yesterday saying that you heard from me again. Now I’ll try to write more often. You were right about Edgar [Mynes, Myers, now has “s”]. He is Ok. About that book it will get to you eventually. I don’t know where you could write about it. Tell everyone I got the cards and things but not till I got here. Erma mother says you are a lady of 13 now. I thought of you on your birthday and the boys all say you look 16 in your picture and have the looks of the family.
Dad have my guns ready when I get home. I want to do some hunting.
Love,
Joe
