[On USO stationary with Mother’s day illustration]
Hi Mom,
Guess you all gave up every hearing from me-huh.
Answers to questions
1. Yes I got the boxes.
2. They were ok except for a small amount of mold on the cakes.
3. It took the air mail 8 days and one 7.
I am on liberty today and using the good old U.S.O. You can only use one side of the paper so that’s why I only used one side—confusing isn’t it. I forgot to put that part from the paper in that letter and I can’t find it now.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to get you anything you would like because some things you can’t send and if I don’t, you show those gabby women the first page of this and they will know I remembered Mother’s Day. I’m going to have the lady here at the U.S.O. to try and get me something for you till I see her again. If I do I’ll be able to send it if not—well. I have to go to camp now so bee good. Love to all,
Joe
