LETTER
Vaucouleurs on the 2nd May 1919
Dear friend,
I had a real pleasure the other day on receiving your letter and knowing your son’s arriving home.
Have no doubt that merrily will, you live now, for Don sure personifies mirth.
Please give him the best regards from the whole family and say that he forget us not and that I go to America perhaps before very long.
My mother participates in your joy.
Do you think that peace will soon be made what do they say about it in your country?
A great many americans are leaving France and we will soon see no more; it will be painful, for most of the French soldiers have been killed.
Write me soon a letter a thousand pages in length and kindly accept a big kiss.
As ever I remain
Your little friend
