In July 1974 Judy Larkin Gilmore was delighted to return to her home in Shenandoah County when she became a teacher at Massanutten Military Academy.
Born at Columbia Furnace, she grew up working in her family’s general store. She graduated from Central High School and then Strayer Business College before working for the campaign of Barry Goldwater and the National Federation of Republican Women. She lived on Indian Spring Parkway with her husband Bruce.
