Description
Portrait of two siblings, Margaret and Samuel Lester Rutz, as children. Margaret and Samuel were born to Jacob H. Rutz (1857-1937) and his first wife, Emma Alice (Feller) (1861-1910) Rutz. They lived in Toms Brook.
Margaret grew up and married Lawrence Keller (1897-1925) in 1923 in Strasburg. The Rev. J.D. Hamaker officiated. Lawrence was from Maurertown, the son of Frank L. (1868-1900) and Mary Belle (Bauserman) (1870-1942) Keller. Lawrence’s occupation when he married was as a Postmaster.
Samuel Lester Rutz married Mary Etta Rutz (1888-1967). The couple had a son, Lewis Henry Rutz (1911-1991). Samuel worked doing automobile body work for many years and lived in Toms Brook at the end of his life. He is buried in Harrisville, near Toms Brook.
