Description
Portrait photograph of Ira Munch as a young man. He is wearing a pin on his lapel showing a man’s face. The words, “In Memoriam” appear to be printed at the bottom edge of the pin.
Ira was born in Fort Valley to Jacob (1849-1928) and Margaret Adelaide Virginia (McInturff) (1854-1932) Munch, a farming family.
As a young man, he moved to Columbus, Ohio, where he worked as a machinist until he was killed in a railroad accident there. He was not quite 25 years old when he died.
Ira’s remains were brought back to the Shenandoah Valley where they were buried in Massanutten Cemetery in Woodstock.
