Description
Photograph of Paul Lee LeDane, Sr. as a young boy.
Paul’s mother was Isabel E. Lichliter from Fort Valley. His father was Clarence LeRoy LeDane, from West Virginia.
By the time he was 9 years old, however, he lived with his mother, Isabel E. (Lichliter) and her husband, Lester Shillingburg, and his mother’s parents, on a farm in Fort Valley. Ten years later, the 1950 census confirmed he was still there and working as a farmhand.
He married Kathryn Delores Wilkins (1930-2020) in 1955. At that time, he worked at the Old Virginia Package Company.
Kathryn was born in Maurertown, to William Harry Wilkins, Sr. and Hester Kavanagh (Cavenall) Wilkins. She was a 1948 graduate of Woodstock High School and worked for many years at the Walton and Smoot Pharmacy in Woodstock before she retired.
The couple had two children: Brenda L. and Paul L. “Sonny” Le Dane. Paul Sr. was buried in Saumsville.

My grandmother, Sadie Lichliter Luttrell Allamong, was Isabel's sister and Pauls aunt.
