Photograph of two brothers, Zane (left) and Dean (right) Lichliter as children. Their parents were Carson Marion Lichliter (1919-1975) and Ruby Arlene Lichliter Shipe Jett (1923-2006). They had a sister, Lana, who is not pictured.
The boys grew up in Fort Valley where their father worked at a saw mill and their mother worked at the Celanise plant in Front Royal (later known as Avtex Fibers).
Zane enlisted in the U.S. Army and served from 1963-1969. His service included a stay at Ft. Wainwright, Alaska, where he was attached to the 69th Battalion. He married Lois Ann (Davner) Hauer, originally from Ohio, in Winchester in 1982. They divorced about five years later. Zane’s last residence was Winchester.
His older brother, Cary Dean Lichliter, lived in Front Royal for many years. As of 2003, he lived in Fort Valley.
